I think manufacturers have made it a priority to make headlights that glare into drivers eyes and do very little else.

His level of enthusiasm can only be captured in doge memes. It appears he is so excited that he can barely keep himself awake.

I remember seeing an article about the IIHS rating headlights a while back. Pretty much they all suck according to the IIHS. A lot of them that are rated poorly do a good job of illuminating the road, but are too effective at illuminating the faces of oncoming drivers have too much glare.

He’s right though that having a benchmark should help. No one wants to buy a car with crappy headlights (at least not lights like on that Honda. Plenty of people would be happy to buy lights that permanently blind other drivers so long as they can see). Having a clear ranking that people can see is a good step.

I had a rental Corolla not too long ago with the LED headlights and holy hot damn they were good. Either brands need to enforce a new standard or just try harder. The Honda in the video was just pitiful
